Item 5: Minor changes are proposed in order to update the following paragraphs of the constitution (whose full text can be found on the Governance page of this website):

Paragraph 2: Objects.  The existing objects should be updated in line with charity law and with the reality of what CGCA now does.  Please see the proposed new version of our charitable objects here.

Paragraph 5: Subscriptions.  Modern systems mean that these no longer need to be payable yearly on 1st April, so we would like them to be payable on an annual rolling basis.

Paragraph 6: Meetings.  Currently 50 members constitute a quorum for a General Meeting.  We would like to change this so that 30 people need to be available – up to one third of whom do not have to be physically present, but can vote on a resolution and submit their vote in writing prior to the meeting.

And some other textual changes to eliminate repetition and potentially confusing language.  These will be gone through at the meeting
